LA DEMEURE SAINT ANTOINE

La Demeure Saint Antoine was built in 1830 and has been in the same family ever since. By pushing the grids of the property, you enter a frozen world for nearly two centuries. Not only the house that has remained intact is worth visiting but the garden as well with century-old trees and magnificent Banyans. You can visit several old colonial houses in Mauritius such as Eureka, le Domaine des Aubineaux, or Saint Aubin.

What about spending a night like in the good old days? Oh yes, the rooms are ready to welcome guests seeking a different and unique experience! Pictures from the family over the years, canopy beds and a touch of modernity will be all you need for a good immersion.

La Salle à Manger, the restaurant of La Demeure Saint Antoine alone deserves a visit. The two buildings are separated: indeed it was really common at the time to reduce the possibilities of fires to separate the kitchens from the rest of the house.
For lunch, just stop by the Demeure, however for dinner a reservation is required. You will be able to taste products of the Mauritian terroir, revisited for elaborated dishes with a lot of taste.

With its large garden and beautiful building the place is ideal for receptions, including weddings!
