Baie de Jacotet Beach in Mauritius
Back to all Beaches

Baie de Jacotet

SouthSecludedSurfing

Blending history and nature perfectly, Baie de Jacotet is mostly visited for its proximity to Sanchot Islet.

Back in the days, it was where colonies prevailed over each other – a legendary naval site. Mauritius is much more than just beaches, luxury resorts and coconut trees.

The Bay of Jacotet got its name from the river flowing into the bay. It is the historic site of the first attack against the Ile de France by the English in 1810.

At the mouth of the bay is Ilot Sanchot, famous for its legends of corsairs and pirates at the origin of several hidden treasures.

The bay gets busy in winter times where surfers invade the beach for its beautiful waves.
